Volunteer

We offer meaningful ways for you to volunteer to help restore, protect, and enhance our river, and in doing so improve your life.

Current Opportunities

Board Members – We are increasing our Board of Directors from five to nine and are looking for people who love the river and have time to help care for it. Experience in ecology, hydrology, boating, fishing, surfing, organizing events, and fundraising is helpful.

Tech/Communication Support – Help us put systems in place for processing inquiries, signing up volunteers, and sending text/email alerts.

Photographers – We need photos of our river and riparian corridor for our website, river-related events, and publicity. Please help us show our community that the Uncompahgre River is an incredible asset.

FUNC Fest Volunteers – August. Work two-hour shifts at ForU’s table sharing information on our organization and requesting contributions to cover the cost for purchasing native trees and shrubs.

Gardeners and Helpers – Spend a morning this fall planting native trees and shrubs along the river as a demonstration of how a healthy riparian corridor should look and function. All ages welcome. It will be fun!

Social Media Expert – Set up ForU profiles, handle postings, monitor comments, and summarize activity for the Board.
