Befriend the Unc

If you enjoy and appreciate our Uncompahgre River, please become our friend. Having friends helps us demonstrate the community support needed to obtain grants and donations as well as build a volunteer network. As a friend, you will receive our monthly newsletter and occasional river-related alerts. There is no fee. We are inclusive and encourage all who value the river or want to know it better to become our friend.

We offer meaningful ways for you to help restore, protect, and enhance our river.

Current Opportunities

Board Members – We are increasing our Board of Directors from five to nine and are looking for people who love the river and have time to help care and advocate for it. Experience in ecology, hydrology, boating, fishing, surfing, organizing events, digital marketing, and fundraising is helpful.

Tech/Communication Support – Help us put systems in place for processing inquiries, signing up volunteers, sending text/email alerts, and building our online community.

Restoration Helpers – Spend a morning this fall planting native trees and shrubs along the river as a demonstration of how a healthy riparian corridor should look and function. All ages welcome. It will be fun!

Social Media Expert – Set up ForU profiles to help build our online community.
